Frequently Asked Questions

I have furniture and features that I don’t want to change, can you work around these?

Absolutely! It’s rare for a design to start entirely from scratch. Budget considerations and sentimental pieces often shape what stays and what we can replace, making each design uniquely personal and meaningful.

What if none of the design pathways suit me and my project?

Not a problem at all! The design pathways can be used as a guide, offering options for how we can work together and what each includes, so you can choose what best fits your budget and expectations.

I completely understand that each client is unique, and I’m always happy to tailor the process to your needs. I’d love to chat about your project, whatever stage you’re at!

I don't yet have a clear vision for my space, can I still contact you?

Of course, that's exactly what I'm here for! Many clients aren’t sure what the final result should look like; they often have a sense of what they like, what they don’t, and how they want the space to feel. That’s where I step in! Together, we can create the perfect design that reflect your style, as well as the nature and function of the space.

Can my appointments be virtual?

Yes, I have extensive experience providing design services fully virtually. While I’m based in Newcastle and frequently visit Yorkshire, I’m happy to conduct both consultations and follow-up appointments virtually. Using photos and video calls, I can gain a comprehensive understanding of your space to ensure we achieve your vision.

Once we've had our complimentary consultation, how long will it be until I see my designs?

The timeline for a project largely depends on its size and scope. More intricate designs or those involving multiple rooms typically require additional time, but I will maintain full transparency with you throughout the process.

Smaller refreshes can usually be completed within a few days, while larger projects may take around 4 weeks.

What types of spaces do you work with?

I’m excited to support you with any project! My experience and expertise primarily lie in residential properties and holiday lets, but I’m also open to discussing commercial spaces like shops, cafes, and small businesses. Whatever your space may be, we’ll work together to create an environment that feels just as you envisioned, or even better!

What types of design do you cater to?

I love diving into a wide variety of projects! From styling traditional living rooms and bedrooms to creating the perfect workspace backgrounds for your daily video calls and adding character to quirky downstairs loos!

For several years, I have also hosted Christmas decoration workshops where I share tips on tree ornaments, festive home decor, and tablescaping for the big day. I’d love to chat with you about holiday decorating if you’re looking for any advice!

When do I pay?

With each project, you will receive a complimentary consultation where we’ll discuss the space, your style and requirements. Before we move forward with your chosen design pathway, payment is required prior to starting any design work. Once payment is received, you’ll either receive your design or hear from me to arrange your follow-up appointment!

If you’d like to add any additional rooms or appointments after payment, we can discuss those options at that time.

Do you collate deliveries and liaise with suppliers?

To keep my pricing accessible, I offer design advice only; my services do not include logistical tasks such as coordinating deliveries or placing orders with suppliers.

That being said, I'm more than happy to discuss order details for you to place with your suppliers, but the client must handle these tasks once the advice stage is complete.

Do you produce furnishings yourself or recommend tradesmen?

As mentioned above, my services are limited to design advice only, meaning I do not produce products like window dressings, or handle alterations and upholstery. Additionally, I do not have affiliations with local tradespeople, so I may not provide personal recommendations.

What happens if something is not quite right with the design?

Since this is your space, getting the design just right is essential, which means we may need to make some adjustments along the way!

For the 'Refined Concept' and 'Complete Experience' pathways, we’ll have a follow-up appointment to discuss and implement any amendments to perfect your design.

With the 'Simply Refresh' option, most discussions will take place during the consultation; I'll then send you a written design proposal along with inspiration images. If you prefer a more collaborative approach, the former pathways would be better suited for you!

My budget means that I'm restricted to high street stores, is that okay?

Absolutely! I believe that high-end, luxury brands should be reserved for special features or select items. If you prefer to focus on more affordable shops, I’m all in! In my experience, high street shops consistently have beautiful pieces that I tend to gravitate towards for my own home!

Rest assured that this will have little to no impact on the outcome of your design.
